The Mind Behind the Operation

Aquaculture & Fisheries Specialist

Champa Dissanayake brings more than 20 years of experience across aquaculture, fisheries and live aquatic systems, with a career spanning government development, commercial production and specialist consultancy in Sri Lanka and the UAE.

Her technical background covers fish biology, fish health, production systems and fisheries management, supported by an M.Sc. in Aquaculture & Fisheries Management and a B.Sc. in Botany from the University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka. She has also completed international aquaculture training through organisations including FAO and the Research Institute for Freshwater Fisheries, Indonesia.

Her contribution to the industry has been recognised through nine AQUARAMA awards, former service as Honorary Secretary of the Live Tropical Fish Exporters Association of Sri Lanka, and lifetime membership of the Sri Lanka Association for the Advancement of Science.
